Here are the Post Game Notes for today's 4-3 Mets loss.
Mets: The Mets fell, 4-3, in 10 innings to the Pirates…Suffered their first loss of the season and struck out 12 times at the plate…Was just their second loss to the Pirates at Citi Field over their last 10 contests…Even with the loss, the Mets are still 51-33 at home since the beginning of last season and they are 13-6 against NL Central opponents over that stretch.
Nolan McLean (5.0 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 8 K, HR, HBP): He allowed two earned runs and struck out eight over 5.0 innings in his first start of the year…He has recorded 65 strikeouts through his first nine career starts, which is third in franchise history behind Dwight Gooden’s 73 and Nolan Ryan’s 71…Was his fifth career start at Citi Field and he has a 0.92 ERA (3 ER/29.1 IP) in those starts…His ERA is the best in Mets home history through five starts, with the next best being Kodai Senga’s 1.20 ERA (min. 25.0 IP)…He has struck out at least six batters in all of those starts.
Francisco Lindor (2-4, 3B, BB, R): Tripled to right-center field in the fifth inning…Was his first hit of the season and his first triple since August 16, 2024 vs. Miami…Reached base three or more times for the 39th time since the beginning of last season, which is the fourth-most such games in the majors over that span.
Juan Soto (2-5, 2B, 2 RBI): Tied the game with an RBI single to right field in the fifth inning and drove in another with an RBI double in the 10th inning to cut the Mets' deficit to 4-3…He has recorded a hit in each of the first three games this season.
Luis Robert (2-3, BB, R): Singled to left field in both the second and fourth innings…He has recorded a hit in each of his first three games with the Mets, and he is batting .455 (5-11) with five RBI over that span.
Brett Baty (2-4): Singled in both the second and fourth innings…He has recorded a hit in each of his first three games this season and since 2025 he is batting .300 (65-217) with a .871 OPS at Citi Field.
