New Travel Options Provide Fans More Ways Than Ever to Enjoy Game Days
FLUSHING, N.Y., March 16, 2026 — The New York Mets today announced a comprehensive suite of new and expanded transportation options and incentives designed to give fans more convenient, flexible, and reliable ways to travel to Citi Field on game days.
As the area around Citi Field continues to develop into a world class sports and entertainment district, the Mets recognize that construction in the neighborhood will impact how our fans travel to and from games. As a result, the Mets are committed to expanding transportation options and providing additional tools to help everyone plan for their gameday experience.
"The fan experience is our top priority," said Katie Haas, Executive Vice President of Ballpark Operations at the New York Mets. "As the area around Citi Field undergoes changes, we're excited to offer fans more ways than ever to get to the ballpark. These new options provide greater flexibility today, and we're equally excited about the long-term vision for the area and what it will mean for the fan experience in the years ahead."
New and Expanded Transportation Options Include:
Personalized Travel Planning: New this year, a dedicated site will allow fans to create custom, location-specific travel plans to Citi Field based on real-time transportation info and Mets-specific options not available on other sites. Look for more information in the revamped MLB Ballpark App, as well as your transportation-specific Know-Before-You-Go email.
Drive & Park:
- Stadium Pre-Paid Parking: The Mets are modernizing the parking experience with a new pre-paid parking system that allows fans to purchase parking in advance, ensuring a faster and more seamless arrival at Citi Field. Parking will remain $40 for fans who pre-pay, while drive-up parking, if available, will be $50 upon arrival. Due to the ongoing transformation of the surrounding area, parking will be more limited overall. As a result, parking at the gate may not always be available, making pre-paid parking the best way for fans to guarantee a spot at Citi Field.
- Discount Parking: The Mets again have partnered with Metropolis to save more than 50% on off-site parking at key locations including Skyview Mall, Flushing Commons, and Flushing Plaza – all just a short walk or one-stop subway ride away from Citi Field.
Public Transportation:
- LIRR $5 Promo Codes: The Mets have collaborated with the MTA to give fans $5 off their LIRR Adult Day Pass ticket to help make taking the train a little easier on the wallet this year. Look for the offer when you buy your Mets tickets. And don't forget kids are only $1 on LIRR this year with fare-paying adults.
- Expanded Ferry Service: The Mets have expanded their partnership with Seastreak to offer more games with service to New Jersey, Staten Island, and Manhattan. And new in 2026, weekend game service to Stamford, CT. Please visit our transportation hub to see specific time and routes.
- Shuttles: A new Citi Field Direct Shuttle service will operate from designated local malls on Long Island, New Jersey, and Bronx/Westchester, offering convenient, comfortable, and low-cost coach bus rides directly to Citi Field. All shuttles are comfortable and climate-controlled coach buses. Two buses from each location will make the trip between your location and the Citi Field Bus Lot, just a short walk from the Left Field Gate. Purchase your shuttle bus tickets in advance for the low price of $8/person, $22/family 4-pack.
- Continued Public Transit Partnerships: The Mets are working closely with the MTA to ensure robust service frequency on the 7 Train and Long Island Railroad to Mets–Willets Point Station on game days, with extra and express trains as often as possible.
Easy Drop-Off:
- Rideshare Zone: Again this year, there will be a designated rideshare pickup and drop-off area just beyond the Left Field Gate. The area will have enhanced signage and lighting, as well as improved traffic flow allowing for easier arrivals and departures.
- Bike and Scooter Access: The Mets will add additional personal bike racks around the ballpark, enhanced Citi Bike service at existing docks, as well as increased e-scooter sharing opportunities, all so fans can take advantage of eco-friendly transportation options.
The Mets encourage fans to plan ahead, explore the full range of transportation options, and pre-purchase parking or transit when possible.
