New York Post

Mets com: The most important thing each team learned at camp. For the Mets, the rotation could be improved "Freddy Peralta is here, looking every bit like the multi-time All-Star he’s been. Nolan McLean may eventually supplant Peralta as the team’s ace, while Clay Holmes and David Peterson could form one of the more impressive back-end tandems in baseball. Then there’s Kodai Senga, the wild card of this six-man rotation. He looked better than ever in Spring Training, producing a 1.86 ERA over three starts while flashing 99 mph heat."

MLB.com Experts predict all of this season's stats leaders. Bo Bichette is the only Met listed, the runner in projected NL Batting Average leader.

The Cardinals play three Cruz brothers, Cirilo, Hector, and Jose, all nine innings in the outfield during the team’s 9-2 spring training victory over New York at Al Lang Field. The trio Puerto Rican siblings, who personally outscore the Mets, bat first, second, and third in the Redbird’s lineup, making all three outs in the first and eighth frames.

1978

The Mets deal 34 year-old Bud Harrelson to Philadelphia for cash and minor league call-up Freddie Andrews, an infielder who will never play another game in the major leagues. The popular shortstop, as a 12-year veteran, could have vetoed the trade but chose to go Philadelphia to play for a contending team.
