Mets: Fell to the Athletics, 11-6, in the second game of their three-game series...Have dropped a season-high four straight games...Allowed a season-high 11 runs which is also the most they have allowed in a single game against the Athletics (previous high: 10, 9/24/22 at Oakland)...New York has lost five of their last six home games against the Athletics after they had won eight of their first 10 matchups against the Athletics in Queens.
- Mets batters slugged three home runs today...Prior to today, the Mets had only one home run over their previous five games...Marked the second time this season the Mets have had a three-homer game (also: 4/3 at San Francisco).
- Mets pitchers allowed three home runs in a game for the second time this season (also: 3/26 vs. Pittsburgh)...In all other games combined, Mets pitchers only surrendered four long balls.
Francisco Alvarez (2-4, HR, RBI, RBI): Launched a solo home run to center field in the sixth, his fourth home run of the season...Joins Gary Carter (6, 1988), Todd Hundley (1995, 7, 1996), Mike Piazza (2001, 5, 2002) and John Buck (6, 2013) as the only Mets catchers with four or more home runs through the team's first 15 games of a season...In the NL, is tied for third in home runs, ranks fifth among qualifiers in SLG (.625) and seventh in OPS (1.0.16).
Jorge Polanco (1-5, HR, RBI, R): Hit his first career home run as a Met, a solo shot to right field to trim the Mets' deficit to one.
Luis Robert Jr. (1-4, R, BB): Extended his on-base streak to 10 games with a single in the first...In the NL, ranks third among qualifiers in OBP (.458) and tied for fourth in walks.
Carson Benge (1-3, R, BB, SB): Has five stolen bases, tied for the third-most in the NL and tied for fifth-most in the majors...tied with Ronny Mauricio and Mookie Wilson for the most by a Met through their first 13 Major League games.
Huascar Brazobán (2.2 IP, 2 H, 3 K): Threw a season-high 2.2 scoreless innings and struck out three...Has not allowed an earned run in 11 multi-inning appearances since 2025...Has yet to allow a run over 8.1 innings this season, the second-most innings without allowing a run in the majors by a relief pitcher (most: Antonio Senzatela 9.0 IP).
Bo Bichette (2-3, HR, 3 RBI, R, 2 BB): Hit his first career home run as a Met, a two-run shot to right field in the fifth...Put the Mets on the board with an RBI single in the first...Has hit safely in nine of his last 10 games and is batting .333 (14-42) during that span...Since April 1, is tied for second in the NL in hits.
Craig Kimbrel (1.0 IP, H, 2 K): Struck out two over a scoreless inning in his Mets and 2026 debut...Has 1284 career strikeouts, tied with Kenley Jansen for the fourth-most in Major League history by a relief pitcher...Has now made an appearance for 10 Major League clubs.
Brooks Raley (1.0 IP, BB, K): Has yet to allow a run through his first six appearances of the season (5.2 IP)...Since returning from "Tommy John" surgery on July 19, 2025, has pitched to a 2.01 ERA (7 ER/31.1 IP)...Has not allowed a home run over his last 52.2 innings pitched dating back to August 15, 2023, the third-longest active homerless streak in the majors.
Kodai Senga (2.1 IP, 8 H, 7 ER, 2 BB, 3 K, 2 HR): Allowed a career-high seven runs over a career-low 2.1 innings...Senga's previous career high runs allowed was five on three separate occasions (last: 8/31/25 vs. Miami) and his previous career low innings pitched in a start was 2.2 on June 4, 2023 vs. Toronto...Gave up a career-high-tying two home runs for the sixth time (last: 7/27/25 at San Francisco).
