From the Diamondbacks 7 Mets 1 Post Game Notes - 4/9/2026

Mets: Fell to the Diamondbacks, 7-1, in the final game of their three-game series...Have dropped both of their rubber matches this season (also: 4/1 at St. Louis)...Allowed all seven runs in the seventh inning or later...Prior to tonight's game, the Mets had only allowed 11 runs (7 earned) in the seventh inning or later.

Luis Robert Jr. (1-3, HR, RBI, R, BB): Put the Mets on the board with a solo home run...Has reached base safely in each of his first 11 starts of the season...Has a .490 OBP as a starter...In the majors, ranks second among qualifiers with a .480 OBP.

Nolan McLean (6.1 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 8 K): Allowed two runs over a season-high 6.1 innings...Has allowed two or fewer earned runs in 10 of his first 11 Major League games...Joins Jim McAndrew as the only pitchers in franchise history with 10 starts of two or fewer earned runs through their first 11 career starts...Threw a career-high 100 pitches.

Newsday: "Nolan McLean turned in an impressive start Thursday night, but the Mets' bullpen couldn't hold the Diamondbacks down in the later innings and the Mets fell, 7-1, at Citi Field. McLean allowed two runs and three hits in 6 1/3 innings, striking out eight and walking two. He gave way to Luke Weaver, who gave up two runs in the seventh, Luis Garcia allowed three runs in the eighth while getting only one out."

Brian Joura Mets360: "New York held a 1-0 lead going into the seventh inning. Nolan McLean had been terrific thru six innings and was sent back out there. He walked the leadoff man but struck out the next batter. And then came the turning point of the game. The batter hit a shot up the middle that McLean jumped for but was unable to get. Marcus Semien was unable to reach the ball, either, and Arizona had two runners on."

NY Post: "Weaver entered having allowed just three base runners in five innings over five appearances, but he gave up a game-tying double to right to pinch-hitter Gabriel Moreno that Brett Baty couldn’t catch up to. Baty, still new to right field, pulled up short of the fence in right and the ball hit off the fence."

Abbey Mastracco NY Daily News: "Moreno’s double then spurred a four-run rally. Alek Thomas hit a grounder to Mark Vientos, who tried to get the runner at home for the second out, but his throw was off target. Jose Fernandez, an above-average runner, was safe at home, and Moreno went to third...A fly ball by Tim Tawa scored Moreno, and Jose Barrosa hit a triple to right to score Thomas and put Arizona up 4-1."
