Brooklyn Cyclones Game Notes - 5/9/2026

 

Here are the Brooklyn Cyclone Game Notes for today's game.

The Brooklyn Cyclones (8-21, 8-21) continue their six-game series against the Bowling Green Hot Rods (19-11, 19-11) — the High-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays — with a doubleheader on Saturday evening at 5:05 p.m. ET from Bowling Green Ballpark in Bowling Green, Ky.

RHP Noah Hall (0-3, 5.19) is expected to make the start for the Cyclones in the opener.  RHP Danis Correa (1-0, 4.50) is scheduled to take the ball in the finale.

The Hot Rods are slated to counter with LHP Garrett Gainey (2-1, 4.63) in the lid-lifter. RHP Jacob Kisting (1-0, 1.80) projects to make the start in the nightcap.

Live coverage on the Cyclones Radio Network, Bally Sports Live, and MiLB.tv will begin at 4:50 p.m. ET.

LAST TIME OUT: The Cyclones got back in the win column on Friday night with a 7-2 win over Bowling Green...2B Mitch Voit tallied a pair of hits and drove in a career-high 4 runs...The 'Clones hit three home runs, including back-to-back shots from LF John Bay and 1B Trace Willhoite in the 2nd...3B Colin Houck added his second home run in as many days in the 4th...The Brooklyn staff racked up 18 strikeouts on the night for the third time this season...RHP Channing Austin struck out a career-high 10 batters over 4.1 innings...LHP Gregori Louis, RHP Bryce Jenkinsand RHP Cristofer Gomez combined for eight strikeouts over 4.2 scoreless and hitless innings...Cyclones relievers retired the final 10 batters of the game in order...The seven runs were the most Brooklyn had scored in a single game since they tallied eight in an 8-3 win vs. Greensboro on April 18.


LET'S PLAY TWO!: The Cyclones will play their second doubleheader of the season on Saturday at Bowling Green...Brooklyn played their first twinbill of the season on April 26, splitting the two games at Hudson Valley...The Cyclones picked up the win in Game 1, 6-2, before dropping Game 2, 7-2...During their championship season in 2025, Brooklyn played five doubleheaders, going 1-1-3 while holding a 5-5 overall record...Despite the 5-5 record, the Cyclones outscored their opponents 42-32 over the 10 games...Brooklyn and Hudson Valley will play another doubleheader on Thursday, May 21, on Coney Island to make up for a rainout on Sunday, April 5.
