Mets.com: "The Mets erupted for a franchise-record 10 runs in the 12th inning of their 16-7 win over the Nationals on Monday, becoming the first team since the 1983 Rangers to score double-digit runs in a single extra inning. Their output matched the fourth-most runs any team has scored in an extra inning in Major League history, making the Mets one of only seven clubs to accomplish that feat."

NY Post: "Carson Benge’s RBI single in the 12th inning brought in the go-ahead run after Hayden Senger’s sacrifice bunt had advanced the automatic runner. Vidal Bruján’s suicide squeeze brought in Benge for an insurance run. Brett Baty delivered the dagger with a two-run single."
AP Sports: "...Marcus Semien brought in another run with a single, and then the Nationals waved a white flag of sorts by moving Jorbit Vivas from third base to the mound to pitch. There was a lengthy delay as umpires tried to determine if the move was legal — it was — and then the Mets went right on hitting. A.J. Ewing added an RBI single, and three batters later Benge came up again and doubled home two runs. Bichette then hit a two-run double that made it 16-6."
Abbey Mastracco NY Daily News: "This came after a shaky start by right-hander Christian Scott, who was charged with three earned runs over four innings. Three walks and a hit batter hurt him early...Bo Bichette homered off left-hander Mitchell Parker in the seventh, his first extra-base hit since April 28. It gave the Mets a 5-3 lead, but the Nats weren’t done."
Nationals scored a run in the 7th against Brooks Raley and another off Luke Weaver in the 8th to tie it at 5. Neither team scored in the 10th, each team scored one in the 11th setting up the Mets historic performance in the 12th.

1993 With the team record mired at 13-25, Jeff Torborg is replaced by Dallas Green as the Mets skipper. The 1990 American League Manager of the Year with the White Sox posted an 85-115 record (.425) during his brief stint with New York.
2010 Mets center fielder Angel Pagan initiates the tenth triple play in franchise history when he snags Nationals' Cristian Guzman's sinking liner with first and second base occupied. After making a catch that totally surprises baserunners, the outfielder overthrows the infield, but catcher Henry Blanco takes the errant toss and throws the ball to Jose Reyes at second base to double off Livan Hernandez, who relays the ball to first baseman Ike Davis to triple up Nyjer Morgan, making it the first 9-2-6-3 triple killing in major league history.
2006: In interleague play, David Wright wins the first Subway Series game of the year between the two New York City teams when he hits a two-out RBI single off Mariano Rivera in the bottom of the 9th inning to give the Mets a 7 - 6 victory over the Yankees. You Tube Link.
2012 - Brandon Morrow pitches a three-hit shutout for the Blue Jays, who beat the Mets, 2 - 0. Morrow is now 5-2 with a pair of shutouts and a 2.63 ERA after signing a long-term contract in the off-season.
