Mets: 

  • Dropped the opener of the Subway series, 5-2...The loss snapped a three-game winning streak...The Mets were held to two or fewer runs for the 19th time this season which is tied for the third-most games in the majors...Fall to 4-4 in series openers at home...Are now 36-39 against the Yankees all-time in Queens and 20-22 against them at Citi Field...Are 7-6 in Interleague play this season. 
  • Recorded double-digit strikeouts for the 20th time this season...Are the fourth-most such games in the majors.

Clay Holmes (4.1 IP, 7 H, 4 ER, 2 BB, 8 K): Allowed a season-high four runs over a season-low 4.1 innings...Prior to tonight, he had surrendered two or fewer earned runs in each of his last 10 starts dating back to September 16, 2025...It was the first time this season he has failed to complete at least 5.0 innings...Recorded a season-high eight strikeouts...The last time he struck out at least eight batters was when he struck out eight on April 14, 2025 vs. Minnesota.

Brett Baty (2-3, RBI, BB): Plated one with an single in the ninth inning...Also singled in the second inning and drew a walk in the seventh...He has reached base safely in each of his last six games, including multiple times in each of his last two games...Over his last nine games, he is batting .333 (9-27) with a .419 OBP...He reached base safely three or more times for the third time this season and all of those games have happened over the last nine games.

Juan Soto (1-3, HR, RBI, R, BB): 

  • Hit a solo home run to left-center field in the seventh inning to cut the Mets deficit to 4-1...Marked his 250th career home run...He is the fifth-youngest player to reach 250 home runs, only Alex Rodríguez, Jimmie Foxx, Eddie Matthews and Albert Pujols reached the milestone at a younger age...He reached the milestone in his 1125th career game making him the seventh-quickest active player to accomplish the feat, only trialing Aaron Judge, Shohei Ohtani, Pete Alonso, Kyle Schwarber, Matt Olson and Mike Tout...Per Elias.
  • He is the youngest player in Major League history to reach 250 home runs and 900 walks...He reached the mark at 27 years old and 55 days.

Tobias Myers (2.0 IP, BB, K): Tossed 2.0 scoreless innings in relief...Marked his eighth relief appearance of at least 2.0 innings which is tied for the fifth-most multi-inning relief appearances in the NL.

Jared Young: Singled and scored a run as the designated hitter for Single-A St. Lucie in the first game of his rehab assignment.

Andy Ibáñez: Was outrighted to Triple-A Syracuse.
