  • The Mets dropped the first game of their three-game series with the Cardinals, 7-0...Fall to 1-3 against St. Louis this season and have lost each of their last three games against the Cardinals...Dropped their first game against the Cardinals at Citi Field since April 27, 2024...They had won each of their previous five games against St. Louis in Queens... Were shut out for the seventh time this season which is tied for the second-most such games in the majors...Are still 7-4 over their last 11 games and are 9-4 over their last 13 home games.
  • Were held to five or fewer hits for the 21st time this season...Is the most such games in the majors this season. 

A.J. Ewing (2-4, 2B): 

  • Doubled to right field in the second inning and singled to left field in the fourth...Has recorded a hit in each of his last six games including two multi-hit performances...It is the longest streak of his career and he is batting .409 (9-22) with three runs, two doubles, two walks and three steals over that span.

Freddy Peralta (6.0 IP, 6 H, 6 ER, 2 BB, 5 K, HR, 2 HBP): 

  • Allowed a season-high six earned runs over 6.0 innings...Was the 10th time in his career he has allowed at least six earned runs and the first time since June 14, 2024 vs. Cincinnati while with Milwaukee...He has completed at least 6.0 innings in five of his last eight starts after only doing so once over his first six starts of the season...Has recorded 79 strikeouts this season which are the 10th-most in the NL. 

Francisco Alvarez (1-3): 

  • Singled back up the middle in his first at-bat since returning from the Injured List...Was his first Major League game since May 12.
