Syracuse, NY – The Syracuse Mets were no-hit by the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, 4-0, on Friday night at NBT Bank Stadium.
Syracuse ended the game with no hits for the first time since August 7, 2019 at Durham.
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (31-29) struck first in the second inning. Oswaldo Cabrera singled and later scored on a double-play ball by Kenedy Corona. Moments later, Duke Ellis ripped an RBI triple to center field, extending the RailRiders lead to 2-0.
The RailRiders added on in the fifth when Ellis launched a solo home run to left-center field, pushing the advantage to 3-0.
The RailRiders added an insurance run in the eighth when Jonathan Ornelas connected on a solo homer to left-center field, making it a 4-0 game.
Syracuse (31-30) struggled to generate offense against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre starter Brendan Beck. The Yankees' No. 21 prospect tied a career-high seven innings, allowed three walks and recorded six strikeouts. Carson Coleman tossed the final two frames, etched two strikeouts and induced the no-hit clinching double play.
On the mound, Jack Wenninger turned in a solid start despite taking the loss. The right-hander pitched five and one-third innings, allowed three runs, one earned run, and struck out three. Ben Simon followed, recording five outs of scoreless ball. Adbert Alzolay made his first Triple-A appearance since 2024 and allowed a run in the eighth. Ofriedy Gomez recorded one strikeout in a scoreless ninth.
Jorge Polanco reached base twice with a pair of walks in his third rehab game with Syracuse, while Francisco Alvarez started behind the plate and caught seven innings in his third rehab game.

Syracuse continues its six-game series against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Saturday night. RHP Jack Weisenburger is slated to take the ball for the Mets against RHP Adam Kloffenstein. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
