FLUSHING, N.Y., July 11, 2026 – The New York Mets selected RHP Carson Wiggins (#27), OF Aiden Robbins (#92) and LHP Shane Sdao (#120) on day one of the 2026 First-Year Player Draft.

Wiggins, 21, appeared in 14 games with the Arkansas Razorbacks in 2025, going 1-1 with a 3.21 ERA (5 ER/14.0 IP), nine walks and 20 strikeouts. The 6-foot-5, 215-pounder was named a Preseason All-American by Baseball America and to the preseason watch list for the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Award. The right-handed pitcher spent the 2026 season recovering from “Tommy John” surgery. Wiggins was ranked as the 88th-best prospect in the draft according to MLB Pipeline. He attended Roland High School in Oklahoma. His brother Jaxon pitched for Arkansas from 2021-22 and was selected by the Cubs in the second round of the 2023 First-Year Player Draft.
Robbins, 21, slashed .333/.426/.696 with 24 home runs, 10 doubles, two triples and 64 RBI in 60 games at the University of Texas in 2026. He entered the draft at the 29th-best prospect in the draft according to MLB Pipeline. The outfielder was named a 2026 First Team All-American by Baseball America and was an All-SEC First-Team selection. His 24 home runs on the season were tied with Kody Clemens (2018) for the third-most in a single season by a Texas Longhorn and were tied for the 10th-most nationally in 2026. The 2026 SEC Newcomer of the Year spent his first two collegiate seasons at Seton Hall University, where he was named to the All-BIG EAST First Team in 2025. A native of Yardley, PA, was a three-year letter winner at Holy Ghost Prep.
Sdao, 22, appeared in 17 games (13 starts) for Texas A&M in 2026, going 4-4 and striking out 83 in 71.2 innings. In 59 career appearances in college, Sdao went 13-6 with a 5.22 ERA (95 ER/163.2 IP), 44 walks and 184 strikeouts. The 6-3, 185-pounder was selected by Baseball America as Preseason Third Team All-American. He entered the draft as the 95th-best prospect according to MLB Pipeline. He is originally from Montgomery, TX where he was a two-year letter winner at Lake Creek High School.
