FLUSHING, N.Y., July 15, 2026 – The New York Mets today announced that they have signed RHP Carson Wiggins. The University of Arkansas player was selected 27th overall in the 2026 First-Year Player Draft. Wiggins will begin his career in Port St. Lucie, FL.

Wiggins, 21, appeared in 14 games with the Arkansas Razorbacks in 2025, going 1-1 with a 3.21 ERA (5 ER/14.0 IP), nine walks and 20 strikeouts. The 6-foot-5, 215-pounder was named a Preseason All-American by Baseball America and to the preseason watch list for the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Award. The right-handed pitcher spent the 2026 season recovering from “Tommy John” surgery. Wiggins was ranked as the 88th-best prospect in the draft according to MLB Pipeline. He is originally from Roland, OK where he attended Roland High School. His brother Jaxon pitched for Arkansas from 2021-22 and was selected by the Cubs in the second round of the 2023 First-Year Player Draft.
