The NYPD vs. FDNY annual charity baseball game presented by Your Local Ford Stores will take place at Citi Field following the Mets vs. Padres game
FLUSHING, N.Y., July 2, 2026 – The New York Mets will host their annual Battle of the Badges, presented by Your Local Ford Stores, at Citi Field on Wednesday, August 19 following the Mets vs. Padres game, which starts at 1:10 p.m. The Mets will donate $5 from all single game and group sale tickets to benefit local FDNY and NYPD charities.
This year’s Battle of the Badges will be played as a straight single-admission doubleheader with the Mets vs. Padres game starting at 1:10 p.m. For the first time ever, fans will be able to attend both games with a single ticket, with the Battle of the Badges starting after the conclusion of the Mets game.
Mets Hall of Famer, former Captain and seven-time All-Star David Wright will be returning for the third consecutive year as the host of the game and will honor a NYPD and FDNY hero prior to the game.
"The Battle of the Badges game gives each of us an opportunity to say thank you to the unsung heroes of our community,” Wright said. “While most of us would run away from trouble, these brave and heroic men and women run towards it. I can’t think of a more worthy cause than to come together to celebrate New York’s Finest and Bravest while raising money for their charities. Can’t wait to see you there!"
The NYPD vs. FDNY annual charity baseball game will feature teams consisting of former high school, college and minor league baseball players who now protect and serve the local community as members of New York’s Finest and New York’s Bravest.
Last year the game was shortened due to rain, with both teams tied at the time play was suspended. New York’s Bravest holds a 14-12 advantage over New York’s Finest in the historic battle.
