Mets: Dropped the final game of their three-game set with the Brewers', 8-2...Is the first time they have dropped consecutive series since they dropped series in Milwaukee and against Los Angeles-NL from July 20-26...Are still 13-8 (.619) over their last 21 games which is tied for the fifth-best mark in the majors over that span...Finish the season series 2-4 against Milwaukee and are 5-13 against the Brewers since 2024.
Sean Manaea (5.2 IP, 8 H, 6 ER, BB, 3 K, HR, HBP): Allowed six earned runs over 5.2 innings in his 14th start and 28th appearance of the season...Was the first time he failed to complete at least 6.0 innings since July 18 at Philadelphia...He had completed at least six innings in each of his last six starts...Has allowed four or more runs in three straight starts after not allowing more than two runs in the previous four starts...His eight hits allowed were a season high.
Jared Young (1-4, 2B, RBI): Cut the Mets' deficit to 5-1 with an RBI double in the fifth inning...Since the All-Star break, he is slashing .299/.339/.467 (32-109) with 15 runs, eight doubles, two triples, two homers, 14 RBI and seven walks with an .806 OPS.
Christopher Morel (1-2, RBI, BB): Plated one with an RBI single in the fifth inning...Also drew a walk in the third...Marked his first RBI as a Met.
