WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. - Thanks to a seven run top of the 10th inning, the Cyclones topped the Renegades on Wednesday night, 11-5. Brooklyn’s 11 runs were unanswered, all of which came from the 7th inning on.

In the decisive 10th frame, all nine Brooklyn batters reached base. The ‘Clones whacked four hits and drew four walks, including the go-ahead free pass drawn by 1B Ronald Hernandez to break the 4-4 tie.

2B Trey Snyder enjoyed a productive day at the dish, going 2-for-4 with two runs and three RBI. 3B Colin Houck was 2-for-5 with an RBI, while LF John Spikerman finished his day 1-for-4 with 3 RBI and a run scored.

After RHP Emilio Obispo chucked 5.0 frames of four-run ball, the Brooklyn bullpen was excellent. The quartet of RHP Rafi Vazquez, Parker Carlson, Joe Scarborough and Juan Arnaud spun 5.0 frames, allowing just one unearned run on one hit while striking out five.

Hudson Valley hopped out in front with a pair in the 1st. After C Eric Genther started the frame with a double, SS Jackson Lovich drove him home with an RBI triple. Lovich himself then came home to score on an RBI groundout one batter later.

The ‘Gades doubled their lead in the 3rd with two more. With a runner on and two away, 1B David McCann powered his sixth High-A homer out beyond the wall in left-center field.

The teams traded zeroes until the 7th, when the Brooklyn bats came alive. With men on 2nd and 3rd and one away, Spikerman scalded a sac fly to center to plate the Cyclones’ first run. Then, a passed ball against Genther enabled RF Yonatan Henríquez to score from 3rd, trimming the deficit to 4-2.

Brooklyn pulled even in the 8th. With men on the corners and nobody out, RHP Thomas Balboni Jr. committed a balk, bringing Brooklyn within one. Moments later, Brooklyn had men on 2nd and 3rd with one out, when Snyder clubbed a sac fly to the outfield to tie the game.

After trading zeroes in the 9th, the ‘Clones bats erupted in the 10th. After a strikeout started the frame, consecutive walks loaded the bases. Then, a third straight free pass with Hernandez batting gave Brooklyn a 5-4 lead. RHP Jose M. Rodriguez then offered up a wild pitch, allowing SS Elian Peña to score from 3rd.

Leading 6-4, Snyder pounded a single up the middle past the drawn-in infield, pushing Brooklyn’s lead to 8-4. Then, a single from Henríquez put men on the corners. After a pitching change, Henríquez took 2nd on defensive indifference.

Spikerman served a two-run single into right, before Houck delivered the final blow with a parachute RBI single into right.

Hudson Valley got one back in the home half on a sac fly, but nothing more.

Brooklyn and Hudson Valley return to action on Thursday night at Heritage Financial Park. RHP Joel Diaz (0-6, 6.86 ERA) projects to take the ball for Brooklyn, against Hudson Valley’s LHP Pico Kohn (1-0, 1.20 ERA). First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m.
