FLUSHING, NY, August 3, 2026 – "The New York Mets have announced that they have acquired INF Jefferson Rojas from the Chicago Cubs in exchange for RHP Clay Holmes and OF Tyrone Taylor. 

Rojas, 21, has appeared in 91 games at Double-A Knoxville this season, batting .270/.339/.461 with 58 runs, 19 doubles, one triple, 15 home runs, 57 RBI, 17 stolen bases and an .800 OPS. A native of Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, Rojas has spent five seasons in the minor leagues, slashing .257/.338/.395 with 247 runs, 68 doubles, 12 triples, 40 home runs, 213 RBI, 85 stolen bases and a .733 OPS. The right-handed hitter was originally signed by the Cubs as an international free agent in January 2022."

Rojas has played the most at short stop, 224 games with 77 games at 2B and 67 games at 3B.

Jefferson Rojas is now ranked the Mets #1 Prospect according to MLB Pipeline.
