Carson Benge (2-4, HR, 2 RBI, R): Lined a two-run homer to left field in the fourth inning to give the Mets' a 2-0 lead...Marked his 15th home run of the season and he joins Darryl Strawberry as the only rookies in franchise history with 15+ home runs and 15+ stolen bases in their rookie season...He is the only rookie to reach the mark this season...Since May 1, he is slashing .293/.355/.453 (108-369) with 30 extra-base hits (14 2B, 3 3B, 13 HR), 45 RBI and an .808 OPS...His 108 hits are the sixth-most in the NL over that span...Among all qualified rookies during that span he ranks first in hits, second in OPS, third in RBI and sixth in home runs.
Nate Lavender (1.0 IP, 2 K): Earned his first career Major League win after he retired all three batters he faced in the sixth inning, two via the strikeout...He has stranded all seven of his inherited runners this season...Hasn't allowed a run to score over 6.1 innings in relief while recording eight strikeouts since being selected to the Major League roster.
