| Chris Devenski, Syracuse Mets 2025 Team Set |
The New York Mets have resigned 11 year MLB veteran RHP Chris Devenski. Chris was part of the 2025 "Syracuse Shuttle" seeing in action in 35 games for Syracuse and 13 for the New York Mets. He will supply depth in AAA as the Mets deal with a reconstructed bullpen after the 2026 trade deadline.
Before spending time with the Pirates this year and the Mets last year, he has also spent time with Houston, Arizona, Philadelphia, the Angels and in 2024 the Tampa Bay Rays where he split time in AAA and the Majors. His 2024 record: 2-1, 6.75 ERA, 19 games, 26.2 innings, 9 HRs, 14 walks, 24 Ks.
His first two years in the Majors were his best, 2016 (2.16 ERA in 48 Games) when he finished 4th in the Rookie Of The Year Vote and 2017 (2.68 ERA in 62 Games) when he made the All-Star Team.
He had ERA in the 4s in 2018 and 2019, Elbow surgery in 2020 and has been trying to return to his early success since.

2026 Season
Signed a minor league deal with Pittsburgh on January 7. Made three appearances for the Pirates, posting a 7.71 ERA in 2.1 IP with 3 K. Spent most of the season on the injured list with an illness. Reinstated and outrighted to Triple-A Indianapolis on August 5 before electing free agency on August 7.
2025 Season
Spent the season between Triple-A Syracuse and New York. Made 13 appearances (one start) for the Mets, posting a 2.16 ERA in 16.2 IP. Also made 23 appearances for Syracuse, pitching to a 2.81 ERA in 25.2 IP with 30 K.
MLB Notes
Made MLB debut with Houston on April 8, 2016. Named an AL All-Star in 2017 and was part of Houston’s 2017 World Series championship team. Has also pitched for Arizona, Philadelphia, the Angels, Tampa Bay, Seattle, New York and Pittsburgh.

Drafted by the White Sox in the 25th round (771st overall) of the 2011 MLB Draft out of Cal State Fullerton. Traded to Houston as the player to be named later in the 2012 Brett Myers trade.
Nickname is “Devo.”
