Ewing recorded his second straight multi-hit game, finishing 3-5 with one doubles and three RBI yesterday...He has reached base safely in each of his last seven games, batting .400 (10-25) with five runs, two doubles, one homer, five RBI, four walks, one steal, a .483 OBP and a 1.083 OPS.
ON DEADLINE: The Mets are 19-12 since the trade deadline...Their .613 winning percentage is tied for the second-best mark in the majors during that span, trailing only Philadelphia (21-10, .677)...They are batting .254/.320/.434 with a .754 OPS...Their .434 SLG and .754 OPS ranks third in the Major Leagues in that span.

BLAME IT ON THE BENGE: Carson Benge has 144 hits, the fourthmost by a Mets rookie in a single season...Ron Hunt is next with 145, followed by Ty Wigginton (146) and Pete Alonso (155)...Additionally, he picked up his 20th stolen base of the season in the third and joins Mookie Wilson (24, 1981), A.J. Ewing (22, 2026), Lee Mazzilli (22, 1977) and Gregg Jefferies (21, 1989) as the only rookies in franchise history to record 20+ stolen bases in a season...Benge and Ewing are one of 14 pairs/trios of rookie teammates in Major League history to record 20 or more stolen bases in a single season during the Live-Ball Era (since 1920).
