Good Morning. Happy Birthday Davey Johnson and Kodai Senga. Mets sign Ryne Stanek to a one year deal, Baseball America updates Mets Top 30 Prospect List and Keith Law of the Athletic ranks the Mets Farm System at #15.

1/29/25 Report: Mets re-sign Ryne Stanek to one year deal "Per Marc Feinsand on X, the deal is for $4.5 million with $500K in incentives. Obtained from Seattle last year on 7/26/24 for Minor League Outfielder Rhylan Thomas, Stanek was 1 and 0 with a 6.06 ERA in 17 games, 16.1 innings, 13 hits, 8 walks, 23 Ks. He faired better in the playoffs going 1 and 0, 3.38 ERA in 7 games, 8 innings, 5 hits, 3 walks, 8 Ks;"
The Athletic: Ryne Stanek, Mets agree to 1-year deal: Source. "Stanek joins a bullpen that also features closer Edwin Díaz and lefty set-up reliever A.J. Minter. The rest of the group includes Reed Garrett, Dedniel Núñez and probably José Buttó, who is also versatile enough to start games. Others in the mix for a bullpen spot include Sean Reid-Foley, Danny Young, Huascar Brazobán, Tyler Zuber and Max Kranick (plus a host of non-roster spring training invites and recent waiver-wire additions)." Andy Martino SNY.TV: How the Mets and Pete Alonso might pivot back to one another. The Ryne Stanek signing could keep a bit of wiggle room to spend on Alonso.
Joel Sherman NY Post Sports+ Pete Alonso has one free agency red flag bigger than the rest. "He went into the marketplace off of his worst season. As he was just about to turn 30. With a qualifying offer — and thus draft-pick compensation — attached to him...All of that harms Alonso’s marketability, but perhaps most damaging is that no time in the half-century of free agency to be a single-dimensional corner player, particularly a first baseman, seeking a significant payday is worse than now...Over the past three seasons, Alonso has had falling WAR totals (4.4 to 3.2 to 2.6) but rising strikeout percentages (18.7 to 22.9 to 24.7)." Baseball America Released the updated TOP 30 prospect list for all MLB Teams. The Mets list has SS Jett Williams at #1, RHP Brandon Sproat at #2, SS Javier Baez at #3, 2B/SS Ronny Mauricio at #4 and RHP Nolan McLean at #5. Recent International Free Agent signee Elian Pena comes in at #9. (Subscription Required)
The Athletic: MLB 2025 farm system rankings: Keith Law ranks all 30 teams, Mariners are new No. 1. Mets come in at #15. Keith adds that the Mets have drafted well over the past decade and the tier behind their told 3 players is packed with upside. (Subscription Required)

Mark Vientos better pay close attention to what's going on with Pete Alonso. If I'm him I would do a few things...
1. I'd do everything in my power to stay at 3B. The game of baseball doesn't think much of first basemen so it'll be hard to get paid there.
2. If…
