AP Sports: Mets get offense from Vientos, Marte and Iglesias before maligned bullpen holds off Nationals 8-7. "Jose Iglesias had three hits, including a go-ahead single in the fifth inning, and Mark Vientos homered as the New York Mets held off the Washington Nationals 8-7 on Monday night. New York’s beleaguered bullpen nearly coughed up another late lead. Washington scored two runs in the ninth charged to Adam Ottavino, but Jake Diekman threw a called third strike past Drew Millas with runners at the corners for his second save. The scuffling Mets have lost six games since May 1 when leading after eight innings. Diekman held on this time, one day after blowing a save in a 5-4 loss to Arizona at home"

From the Blue Jays 2 Mets 1 - Post Game Notes 6/3/2023:

I think most of us who identify as sane would tell you that. But to go from as hot as they did to as cold as they did is quite concerning. They were done in by Tony Gonsolin last night, and Tyler Anderson tonight on the strength of six shutout innings as the Mets fell 6-1 to the Dodgers on Friday."
Brian Joura Mets360: Gut Reaction: Dodgers 6, Mets 1. "Chris Bassitt had traffic on the bases nearly every inning and gave up two, 2-run homers. And they put up two more runs in two innings against the Mets’ pen."
NY Post: Mets offense falls flat again in another loss to Dodgers. "A night after getting shut out for the first time this season the Mets managed only a Pete Alonso solo homer Friday in a 6-1 loss to the Dodgers before 52,505 at Chavez Ravine. The Mets lost a second straight game for only the third time this season."

"Tejada, who made his sixth straight start at third base, committed two errors that contributed to the Mets’ ugly performance in a 7-3 loss to the Padres. In the first inning, Tejada booted Derek Norris’ grounder, leading to two unearned runs. In the third, Tejada made a wild throw to first base that allowed Norris to reach. Gee (0-3) struggled, allowing seven runs in four-plus innings.
ESPN.com: Padres capitalize on Mets' defensive miscues to support James Shields. "James Shields (7-0) cruised through five innings, permitting just one runner to reach second base. The right-hander allowed two runs and six hits overall. He struck out four, walked two and used three double plays to avoid major damage...The Mets were hurt by three errors -- two by fill-in third baseman Ruben Tejada -- that led to three unearned runs. Winless starter Dillon Gee, just off the disabled list, also hit a batter with a pitch with the bases loaded...After trailing 7-0, the Mets brought the potential tying run to the plate in the ninth. But slugger Lucas Duda grounded out with the bases loaded against Craig Kimbrel to end it."
For Gee, the loss is his last decision he gets a Met. He still throws two more games in his Mets career but both are no decisions.
