Mike Puma NY Post: Mets lose Taijuan Walker, fall to Bravesas NL East lead shrinks. “On Tuesday, Taijuan Walker’s back spasms necessitated a second straight bullpen game for the Mets, who watched Carlos Carrasco depart early a night earlier. But the lack of offense was the largest culprit for the Mets in a 5-0 loss…R.J. Alvarez, selected to the roster before the game to provide bullpen depth, replaced Walker to start the third…Robbie Grossman blasted a solo homer in the third to give the Braves their first run. In the fourth, Austin Riley walked leading off the inning before Matt Olson crushed a 443-foot homer to right field that placed the Mets in a 3-0 hole.”

SNY.com: Robert Gsellman makes his second start of the season Monday against the Marlins at 7:10 p.m. on SNY. Jordan Yamamoto is set to toe the rubber for the Marlins.
Mets360: Rick Porcello pitched good for five innings, which sounds okay until you realize he pitched six innings. The final line wasn’t awful – 6 IP, 4 ER, 0 BB, 6 Ks – but the Mets couldn’t do much against Zack Wheeler and ended up doing even less against the Phillies’ bullpen, which was supposed to be a giant weakness for them.
Metstradamus: On Friday, Rojas pulled Walker Lockett too late and it cost them a game. On Saturday, Rojas pulled Steven Matz too late and it could have cost them that game as well. On Sunday, Rojas pulled Rick Porcello too late and the Mets lost as a result. But I can’t give Rojas too much blame here, tempting as it might be. I mean, (I would honestly rather blame Gary DiSarcina for running Andres Gimenez into an out early in the game for no reason, but that’s another conversation for another time.)
SNY.com: Porcello found his rhythm after the first inning, shutting out the Phillies in his next four frames of work. But in the sixth inning, J.T. Realmuto and Bohm hit back-to-back doubles, with Bohm's tying the game. Andrew McCutchen hit a long two-run homer to give the Phillies a 4-2 lead.

Baseball Reference: Short of infielders because of injuries, the Mets start catcher Travis d'Arnaud at third base in their game against the Yankees. However, as d'Arnaud has never played the position professionally, manager Terry Collins decides to switch him and starting second baseman Asdrubal Cabrera every time a right-handed batter comes up, in order to minimize the chance of a ball actually being hit towards the improvized infielder. The two end up exchanging positions 18 times as the Yankees prevail, 5 - 3, making for an unusual boxscore that reads "Cabrera 2b-3b-2b-3b-2b-3b-2b-3b-2b-3b-2b-3b-2b-3b-2b-3b-2b-3b-2b" and "d'Arnaud 3b-2b-3b-2b-3b-2b-3b-2b-3b-2b-3b-2b-3b-2b-3b-2b-3b-2b-3b".

ESPN.com: Ramirez, Pirates rough up Mets after rain forseries sweep. “Ramirez had four hits and three RBI, Pedro Alvarez homered and Pittsburgh roughed up the sloppy Mets after a rain delay Sunday for an 8-1 victory that sealed the Pirates' first season series sweep of New York…Alvarez, Ramirez and Gregory Polanco each had run-scoring hits in a breakaway four-run seventh, keyed by reliever Bobby Parnell's throwing error.”
NY Post: Mets get creative in wasting Matt Harvey’s latestgem. “Harvey wasn’t beaten by the Pirates, he was undone by the rain, the Amazin’s failing lineup and floundering bullpen. Despite not having his best stuff and seeing his career-long 16-inning scoreless streak snapped on Pedro Alvarez’s second-inning solo shot, Harvey was outstanding.
