11/18/25 - Mets Roster Moves: Montas DFA'd, Morabito Selected to the 40 Man Roster

The New York Mets have announced the following Roster Moves.

After a very successful stint in the Arizona Fall league, the Mets have added Nick Morabito to the 40 Man roster.  This will keep him out of the Rule 5 draft in December.  

It is possible that additional moves could be made to protect more players from the Rule 5 Draft.  Click here for the full list of Mets eligible for the 2025 Rule 5 Draft.

To make room for Morabito, they have designated Frankie Montas for assignment.  Montas underwent Tommy John Surgery at the end of 2025 and will not pitch in 2026.  He is owed $17 million for the 2026 season.
