The Arizona Fall League announced their 2026 schedule. The 2026 AFL season will begin Saturday, October 3rd with the Championship game on Saturday November 14th. The Mets prospects will play on the Surprise Saguaros. Typically, team rosters are announced in mid-September. We will have more on the AFL season later this morning on MetsNewsLinks.com
Laura Albanese Newsday: State of the Mets' farm system: Has Steve Cohen done enough to fix the organization's lack of depth? Laura notes: "Going into the season as Baseball America’s seventh-ranked farm system, the Mets dropped to 24th at midseason because of the graduation of players such as Carson Benge and A.J. Ewing, but also significant underperformance from some of their top young players. After the deadline, Baseball America bumped them up to No. 16, with eight of the 12 prospects acquired immediately slotting into the team’s top 30."
Baseball America named Jefferson Rojas as one last week's 20 hottest minor league prospects. They note: "Rojas has picked right up where he left off with the Cubs, hitting .281/.333/.563 in 16 games since the trade. Rojas had arguably his best week since the trade this past week, as he homered three times while tallying hits in five out of six games. Rojas’ best game of the week came on Tuesday when he went 3-for-5 with a home run, three RBIs and seven total bases."

Binghamton, 18-2 this August, travel to Reading to play the 1st place Fightin' Phils. After being in last place most of the year, the Rumble Ponies are now tied for 2nd, just 2.5 games out of 1st place behind the Phils - and the final Playoff spot. Reading took 4 of the last 6 these teams played, July 28th - August 2nd - that was before the trade deadline and before Binghamton's recent hot streak.
Gary Gill Hill takes the mound for Binghamton this morning at 11AM.
Brooklyn visits Hudson Valley at 6:35. Nicolas Carreno is the scheduled starting pitcher.
St. Lucie plays at 6:35 in Daytona, starting pitcher TBD.
