Mets: The Mets dropped the second game of their three-game set to the Diamondbacks, 7-2...Fall to 3-2 at home this season.

Brett Baty (2-4, 2B, RBI): Put the Mets on the board with an RBI single in the sixth inning to cut the Mets deficit to 5-1...Doubled to right field in the eighth inning.

David Peterson (5.0 IP, 6 H, 5 ER, 2 BB, 6 K): Allowed six hits and five earned runs over 5.0 innings...Recorded a season-high six strikeouts.

Sean Manaea (4.0 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 2 K): Threw 4.0 innings in relief and allowed two earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out two.

Mike Puma NY Post: " On a chilly afternoon at Citi Field — even with first pitch moved up three hours for a second straight day because of the numbing forecast — Peterson’s performance quickly transformed the ballpark from refrigerator to freezer. Buried in a five-run hole early, the Mets never recovered in a 7-2 loss to the Diamondbacks..."

Peter Sblendorio NY Daily News: "For the second start in a row, Peterson was hit hard, this time in a 7-2 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks at frigid Citi Field. Arizona tagged the left-hander for one run in the first inning and four in the second Wednesday afternoon as the Mets’ (7-5) four-game winning streak came to an end."

Brian Joura Mets360: "The Mets didn’t get a baserunner until the fourth inning and didn’t push a run across until the sixth. Brett Baty had an RBI single for the Mets’ first run. He also doubled in the eighth inning, putting two runners in scoring position. Mark Vientos hit a SF for the second run but that’s all the offense could muster in this one."
