Gill Hill has been assigned to the Mets Double-A affiliate, Binghamton.
Draft: Drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 6th round of the 2022 MLB June Amateur Draft from John F. Kennedy Catholic Preparatory School (Somers, NY).
Baseball America said this about Gary Gill Hill: "The spindly righthander works with four- and two-seam fastballs that sit around 93-94 mph and peak at 98. He backs them with a slider, sweeper and changeup. The combination allows him to work both horizontally and vertically, though getting whiffs is not a big part of his game. Instead, he generates grounders with the east-west components of his arsenal."
At the time of the trade he was ranked the #27 prospect in the Rays system by Baseball America, MLB Pipeline now ranks him as the #17 Mets Prospect.
